Saturday November 10, 2012
Sunday Am Update:
Fair and cold today with very light breezes…High in the 30s lows in the teens tonight.
Next weather system splitting about mid week….only light amounts expected of a trace to a few inches.
Better Storm toward Thanksgiving….
Stay Warm………………..:-)
Just a brief update Saturday……For a more detailed report read yesterdays discussion…
Today’s Dweeb report touts that the upper jet to the west of Mammoth translates east today. UVM will continue through this moring and so another inch of snow is still possibly until about noon today. There will be moderate winds on Mammoth Mtn as well as a wind chill factor, so where face protection. Temps forecasted near 10 degrees at McCoy Station with 30 mph winds, -12 zero chills on the cheeks! Expect high temps at the Village at Mammoth to reach 20 degrees with an over night low of 4F.
The outlook shows the progression of the upper trof east of Mammoth by Sunday and so high temps will move back into the low 30s Sunday afternoon….then 40s on Monday with short wave ridging aloft. Further warming will carry highs up to near 50 by mid week. Nights in the teens and 20s this upcoming week. Winterlike weather has arrived………
Not much change in the longer range other then to push back the mid week system to Thursday/Friday. As detailed in the past discussion, this system will either split or become cut-off later next week.
The storm in back of it mentioned yesterday, will slow as well, and not arriving until about Thanksgiving or shortly before…..
The Dweeber…………………..:-)
