Weather for the Fishing Opener will be Historic!…..With highs in the mid 70s on Crowley Lake and very light Breezes…..High Temperatures Records in Jeopardy this Weekend
Friday April 26, 2013
Sunday Morning Update:
Clear…cool and calm conditions this morning with chilly early morning lows in the 30s. High temps will bump up to the low 70s in the Towns of Mammoth and June while at Lake Crowley Lake, 79 is the forecast high today Sunday, and 80 is the forecast high Monday. These are record highs for this time of the year…..
For Bishop, 92 and 93 today and tomorrow respectively. Previous records were 90 degrees both days….
Normal high/low temperature this time of the year:
Bishop 75 and 39
Mammoth 58 and 29
Cooler temps will return to the high country Tuesday into Wednesday as a dry cold front moves through. No doubt there will be some with system and high will return to near normal for the Mammoth area…however the Owens Valley will continue with temps above normal, 80s the second half of next week.
The long range forecast keeps above normal temps in the forecast more often than not for the month of May.
The Dweeber……………………………………………………………..:-)
This will be short…..
High Pressure aloft is now building in and the fishing opener looks the best, weather wise historically……
However, there is going to be large diurnal swing in temperatures between the lows at dawn and the highs during the early to mid afternoon. Diurnal swings of 45 degrees are expected, so early morning temps may be near or below freezing while afternoon highs will be in the mid 70s…..
With little or no gradient……expect very light wind if any……..
Enjoy the weekend……Coming off the full moon is usually a late bite for the fishing…..
The Dweeber………….:-)
