Showers lined up along areas of deformation From Eastern Ca and over Nevada This afternoon. 850mb Deformation axis ran from Highway 50 east to Austin, NV. There was another deformation axis at 750MB over Southern NV with showers associated with it. Over Southern Mono CO, at 1:30PM the LI index was 0 and without much focusing just some scattered showers were occurring. Most of the showers were near and west of Mammoth Mt.
The models have trended wetter into the first half of the weekend. Tomorrow looks to be another active day with showers a few thunderstorms.
Of most importance, is the short wave that is looking quite dynamic for late Friday night into Saturday. The System is digging as it swings inland from the NW. Normally a system like this would not bring much more than some snow showers. However, with so much antecedent moisture in place already, all we need is some good dynamic lift for a good snowfall. The best timing seems to be Friday night into Saturday morning. The Dweebs see 6 to 12 inches over the upper elevation possible by Saturday PM…
Get it while its cold as a big warm up is in store for us early next week!!!
The Dweeber……………..:-)
