Storm system to bring a good 3 to 6 inches in town Saturday and night. About 8 to 12 inches of snowfall is expected on Mammoth Mt. trough Saturday night. Sunday and night could allow snow to redevelop in the aftrnoon into the night. Next week is a real pain forecasting the storms. They will be out there affecting CA. Most of the affecting is west of the sierra crest to the coast and west and south.

Warmer temps will be up the next few days before colder WX hits Saturday AM and into Sunday. Looking at both ECMWF and GFS, precip amount look on the light side for Mammoth 1 to 6 inches. Heavy amounts are expected on the West Side of the Sierra Westward. Saturday through Saturday night still look the most active for whole area, with East of the Sierra Crest much less precip expected.
It will be interesting to see how it all works out by New Years. This pattern being experienced by me has be experienced many years in th past with EL Nino. Usualy we get a few storms with good precip that fool us! They were not expected!. 🙂
