More sunshine is expected today, with no significant forcing dynamically over Mono County. However, the SPC still indicates some CAPE of 500 joules/per KG over and near the Inyo/Mono Border this Morning….So it will be the sun that will generate any shower over the sierra this afternoon. This would be this afternoon most likely if at all. The next and last pacific system will approach the Southern CA coast Wednesday and Thursday and translate through Friday. The Central Sierra will be in the NE divergent quad of the upper low with SE flow…so dynamically driven showers and Thunder will return…especially Thursday and Friday. The Weekend looks partly cloudy with a few showers possible Saturday, then drier and warmer Sunday and Memorial Day. As a note…last nights run of the EC did bring a weak inside slider in Sunday. For the time being that is an outliner and will continue the trend of a mostly fair weather Sunday and Monday. Highs in the low 50s today with cooler days Thursday and Friday. Highs will warm into the upper 50s by Sunday/Monday.
The outlook still has some weak blocking between NW Canada and AK. The southern branch is pretty weak through. Will have another look at it later in the week….
