Alaskan blocking pattern still keeping CA unsettled with no end in sight…..light to moderate snow producing systems likely to continue through mid April….
Monday April 1, 2019
April 5th
Fridays weather system continues to weaken as it lifts to the NE. Amounts of snowfall will be very light with little accumulation. Mammoth will have a bit cooler weakend than what was forecasted but certainly milder than past days. Highs will climb into the low to mid 50 while lows at night in the 20s, then 30s later in the weekend.
Pattern still favorites unsettled weather with more showers later monday and into following Thursday. On a bright note, for the fisher folks…Lake Crowley is just beginning to break up. The Dweebs are expecting the entire lake to be open for the fishing opener later in the month.

it is becoming the Winter that would not end in the high country as a parade of low pressure systems head for the Sierra. Wednesday and Sunday seem to be the nicest days of the week. The quantitative precipitation outlook shows up to another 15 to 20 inches of snow possibly falling on Mammoth mt this week.
The next WX system is bringing a band of showers to northern CA at the moment. The band will slowly move south into our area later this afternoon. The snow level will rise to 9000 feet tonight so it will be mostly rain in town. Cooler air arrives tomorrow morning bringing the possibility of 1 to 3 inches to the town. Some 4 to 8 inches is possible on Mammoth Mt. Next system Thursday then stronger system Friday night into Saturday.
