Mammoth Weather Outlook
A series of troughs has brought cooling to the high country…and helped air quality as well…Cooling will be short lived as by mid week next week the heat will be on again…

So far this Summer, the southern sierra has recieved a nice break without any major fires to deal with. For that reason, our air quality has been remarkably good, compared to many eastern sierra-Great Basin regions of Northern CA. Current weather pattern is highlighted by a series of troughs from the GOA, sliding into the Northern Great basin, bringing gusty winds, dry condition with low humidity. All these ingredients are a concern for hightened fire danger. The long wave trof in the pacific NW will weaken next week as the continential high shifts west again for week 2. Expect highs in the low 70s the next few days with nights in the low to mid 40s. Temps will begin to rise by the end of the week and will become well above normal by mid week. Low 80s.
