Cold Storm from the Gulf of Alaska With Moderate AR to bring Heavy Snowfall Wednesday and Thursday…Weekend looks Showery with another Storm and Smaller AR Monday and Tuesday….

All systems look go for major snow producer Wednesday and Thursday with 3 to 5 feet possible in town and between 5 and 9 feet over Mammoth Mt. by Friday. This AR is considered moderate. A (2) on a scale of 1 to 5. This scale considers duration of the event and moisture transport. (IVT) There may be some snow showers Saturday, then dry Sunday the 31st. Another storm is expected Monday and Tuesday with a smaller AR, with a preliminary rating of 1. Several feet are possible with that system.
Although mid week, next week looks dry, a series of cold Inside sliders are expected beginning Friday the 5th and again the 8th. These cold storms will bring mainly light snowshowers. However, with very cold NE flow, Mono Lake effect Snows are possible that weekend for Lee Vining and near by areas… 700MB temps are depicted to be near -20C with NE flow on the 8th.
