Mammoth Weather

After a brief encounter with the SW Monsoon, The series of upper trofs moving through the pacific NW will deepen, pushing drier air into the region. As the same time, the Continental High will retrograde westward and become stretched East-West, shunting Monsoon moisture to the south over old Mexico. The core of the warm air gets centered more over California in the days to come. As a result, instead of the troughing providing cooling, higher heights aloft will create warming instead. Expect Mammoth to approach 80 degrees by Sunday with little change in temps through Tuesday. Our Mono County Zephyr will be back early next week providing the usual afternoon and evening winds. The drier air will allow nighttime temps to lower into the 40s……So great sleeping weather ahead!!
The Bluesapalooza, “Blues and Brews fest” is next weekend. The weather pattern has the Continental High shifting east again by then. As a result, it is possible that Monsoon moisture may make a return by next Saturday or Sunday. Lets hope it’s the end of the week!
The Dweebs will update later this week.
Daytime highs in the upper 70s and low 80s the next 5 days with night time lows cooling to the 40s. The Mono County Zephyr will pick up in the days ahead into the 15 to 30 MPH range in the breeziest arenas of town…. That is in the afternoon and evening hours…
