The Weather in Mammoth is now pretty seasonal with highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows 55 to 60.  It will be a breezy week with troughing in the Pacific NW and our 4 corners continential high set up in its usual place. Highs in Mammoth this week will vary a bit. 75 to 80 with lows in the 50s.

Next weeks weather shown by the week 2 charts suggests retrogression in the four corners high along with the trough in the pacific NW.  This can be a very warm weather pattern for Mammoth and Bishop; near record highs will depend upon moisture.  So if we get Monsoon moisture, you can pretty much count out new record highs.  Nevertheless, the smell of the rain in the forest will always be welcome. 🙂

Its interesting to note that our Blues Fest on the Calender, first weekend in August, is positioned timewise, at the end of the warmest time of the summer and the peak of the Monsoon Season. So if your up here then, it is a very special time climatically!

El Nino, Looks Moderate to strong.  The key is where most and how the warmth is set up. More late Summer on this. For what ever the EURO is thinking, The real wet does not begin until next January.
